My tutoring has always been directed at high school/college level students who need help absorbing and understanding the long, detailed, and complex information involved in art history. I struggled for many years with art history and once I found the method that worked for me not only did my grades instantly jump from Cs to As, but I also found that I retained the information (even to this day - 7 years later) because this method required that I learn the information rather than regurgitate. Once I passed my comprehensive exams (with flying colors), I passed my study materials on to the art majors who would be taking the exams next semester. Those who used my study method not only passed their exams and graduated but claim that it was outstandingly helpful and even our professor was impressed with how quickly students were learning, understanding, and retaining the information. The most important lesson I took from this success is that finding the right method for each student is vital to gaining a thorough understanding of the materials. I strongly believe in understanding and retaining art history as it is the longest and most detailed record of human existence and experience. I dedicate myself to educating as many as I can on art history and finding ways to help the student understand and retain the information as I strongly believe it is one of the most important subjects in all of academia.

Hobbies

Besides my strong Fine Art background, I have spent the last 6 years working in professional theater in the Metro Detroit area. Though my focus is primarily design and carpentry, I have experience in every level and job theater has to offer. I have a very vast knowledge of theater due to my own research and experience, however I do not hold a degree in the subject. I also love animals, nature, reading, writing short stories and plays, TV and movies, music, I am also a big general history and science nut.
